This is the video clip from the gathering on April 12, 2014 in Rutherfordton. About 1:20 into the clip you can hear and barely see to the bottom right of the screen the two sisters of the speaker screaming out. Is it fair to say that this type of display is normal to the sisters? Would it also follow that since the first sister was on the phone just previous to this outburst, that she probably had the approval of their leader? So, if that holds true, then it would be logical to say that this was the Word of Faith Fellowship’s (WOFF) chosen way to make their thoughts on child abuse known to the community? Rutherford County– Are you listening? If my assumptions are correct, then this public display is the preferred method of WOFF to deal with survivors who tell of the abuses inside their group. The standard WOFF response- anything negative about them is a lie. The video goes on to document Jeanna Powell’s remarks as referenced in a previous post. Whew! Below the video, I share more on this tactic.

In early 2010, I got a knock at my door by my wife and another WOFF member. Their message that day was the same; I was posting lies on my blog. Several months ago, in response to a post, I allowed a comment by my now ex-wife to be here on this blog. Her message had not changed; she said I was posting lies. Here are three clips from that comment- “I am surprised any of you would read this blog and believe it, seeing that more than 95% of what he has written has no truth in it.” And- “It amazes me to see how much time he spends writing this blog which I have said is full of lies, when he could be working and providing for his son.” Toward the end: “It is all such a lie. Everything he says is one lie after another.”

For many reasons, I have held back from sharing the intimate drama surrounding my children in this fiasco ordained by WOFF practices. Since this next information is public record, and both of them are of legal age and both of them are still members of WOFF; I think sharing this information applies here. I love them both very much, but I know they will not be given the full story surrounding the legal battles initiated by my ex-wife.

Rutherford County General District Court records will show FILE No: 11 CVD 389 as being a “Summary Judgment for Absolute Divorce” Martha E. Huddle, Plaintiff vs. John E. Huddle III, Defendant. May 23rd, 2011. It was pretty cut and dry. I did not contest. Why? What would be the point? Her attorney, Mark Morris was visibly relieved when I did not enter a testimony into the court records with the circumstances of this case. My ex-wife did not show for the hearing.

My ex-wife brought an action with supporting documents contained in a very thick notebook seeking over $14,000 in back child support. I paid a very good attorney to prove to the court that the baseless claims must be ignored. I had been paying and finished paying MORE than my legal obligation toward my son’s support. I contend she received very poor legal counsel and the citizens of Rutherford County had to pay the DSS attorney to find that out. My feelings have not changed from that day to this. She was being lied to as to what my obligations truly were in the matter. A few months earlier, in a rare telephone call with my son, he accused me of not supporting them and not sending money. He was not being told the entire truth. My words would not convince him then and unless he gets the court documents, I suspect he will not believe to this day.

Court records support the truth of my financial support. My children were not told how I was supporting them. They were also counseled to shred the very last check I sent each of them and return it to me as a sign of not loving me or needing me. I do not believe it for a minute. I know that the love my children have for me is frozen in the deep places of their hearts, kept there by the practices of WOFF to actively alienate parents who leave their group. One day, the frozen will thaw.

It is so very hard to share these details, but the purpose here is to bring light to the darkness and hope to the hopeless. Nothing is gained by allowing the rants and outbursts of WOFF members to go onto the pile of forgotten oddities associated with membership in that group. If you have lived in Rutherford County for any length of time, you know the list of odd behaviors is long. Even more concerning is the list of dangerous practices within WOFF. Odd public behaviors can be noted, and maybe in the long run overlooked. Internal caustic and increasingly abusive behaviors, as testified to by recent survivors of the group, must not be ignored on any level.
