The Bigger Story – Jane Whaley Exposed

Yes, it is sad that Word of Faith Fellowship (WOFF) member, Kerrick Hudson, married father of two, would see fit to steal an election sign for a candidate he obviously did not support. At least that is what he is accused of after charges were filed on Thursday. Candidate for Sheriff, Wayne Guffey having some signs go missing, set a sign near a “deer camera” in hopes of catching the thief. The images of an individual getting out of a car apparently to pick-up the sign spread like wildfire once it was posted on a social media site and consequently reported by Rccatalyst.com.

Late this afternoon, I received a call telling me about the unfolding events. Though I saw the headline earlier on the Rccatalyst.com site, I had not viewed the picture. Soon, the article was posted outlining the events which surrounded the charges being filed against Mr. Hudson. WoFF Member Charged… (see article here) The criminal charges were removal of a campaign sign and the court date is April 13, 2018. No time was given for the session. The activity was listed as a Class 1 misdemeanor. This level of offense carries a maximum term of 120 days in jail and a discretionary fine. This is a serious charge for one aspiring to enter or has already entered in a licensed profession.

Mr. Hudson was listed in the original incident report from 2012 reported by Michael Lowry. I have an unredacted copy and though the incident was never fully processed; Kerrick was named by Lowry.

It has been several hours since the story broke and some of the initial flurry of reaction on social media is subsiding. However, I believe it is necessary to point out the bigger story included in the report on Rccatalyst.com. That story is the leader of WOFF, Jane Whaley’s attempt to appease Mr. Guffey and discourage him from filing charges. This documented effort is exactly what the Associated Press wrote about on March 6, 2017 in an article titled: Ex-members tell AP: Prosecutors obstructed justice.

The article outlined the procedure in which Jane and her leadership team would coach members on answering questions from investigators. The result of the article was Assistant District Attorneys Frank Webster and Chris Back were four days later no longer employed and Lori Cornelius, a social worker in Cleveland County, also named in the AP release decided to leave her job shortly thereafter.

Directly from the article: “…attended meetings where Whaley warned congregants to lie to investigators about abuse incidents, according to nine former members.”

From today’s article, we read of Whaley’s attempt to discourage Mr. Guffey from filing charges.

“Guffey reported that Whaley said she had the culprit in her car and that he was very repentant and had been up all night crying. Whaley also stated she wanted to meet up with Guffey and make things right by reimbursing him. She offered to come out to Cliffside according to Guffey.

“We are cousins,” Whaley supposedly said.

“We’re not cousins by blood,” Guffy replied. “I don’t have time for this right now. I want you to understand this real fast. Wayne Guffey is not someone you can mess with. ”

Guffey requested the suspect’s name. Guffey said Whaley began to talk fast and attempted to talk over him.”

This last statement is a signature response from Jane when she wants to make her point and she feels she is losing. That I know to be true and there are recordings other places which confirm this.

Jane tried money, “family” and pity to persuade Guffey to look the other way. He passed the test. Jane felt comfortable approaching him because this is her go to strategy as the AP uncovered. Jane Whaley felt confident she could handle Mr. Guffey. How did that work for you, Jane?

Yes, many in the local area are already expressing doubt that Mr. Hudson will ever see any real penalty for his crime. I know this. It is an election year and the jostling has begun. Those candidates who consider keeping the practices of years past which included calling Ray Farmer before investigating charges better rethink that move. Jane’s methods have again been exposed and I think this is the bigger story here. Kerrick may incur a sentence, but Jane has had her skirt lifted in a biblical way. She tried to schmooze the wrong man.

  1. Anonymous,

Please, set us straight and give us your name. If you have “facts”- it is worth knowing who brings these facts to the table. Why is it none of my business?

    John

  2. Thank you for exposing the truth of WOFF. To me, if they were as innocent as they say they are, then they would not try SO HARD to defend themselves! I mean, 3 days a week for a radio program?? AND why not just bring Jane Whaley herself on the air. Instead of the WOFF saying “we will pray for those who are giving these false accusations against us….,” all they do is defend, defend, defend. This does not make sense to me. Just my opinion.
